DVRs

The Digital Video Recorder (DVR) is the central hub of your surveillance system as it is the DVR that records the camera images and allows you to view the recorded history.

When choosing a DVR it is so important to carefully research the functionality and user interface. We recommend Hikvision because the interface is so easy to use – if you can operate a DVD player you will be able to work a Hikvision DVR. Many low cost ‘no brand’ models are so difficult to use that clients report they just don’t even bother. We strongly recommend asking for a showroom demo or a demo video of the interface before you buy.

When purchased through us, your Hikvision DVR will be supported by a 36 month manufacturer’s warranty as part of the official distribution channel. The DVR will have the correct operating software version includes New Zealand support. This gives you peace of mind.

Plus you can view and control your surveillance cameras over a computer network or the internet. The DVR includes remote view software compatible with PC, Mac, iphone, ipad, Blackberry or Android smartphone. You can keep an eye on your business or home from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.

DVRs are available in 4, 8 or 16 channel models allowing 4, 8 or 16 security cameras to be connected. Multiple DVRs can be used for larger applications. The DVR is an expensive part of your system so it is worth future proofing making your choice.

With an analog CCTV system you can mix and match brands between different components so our DVRs can be used with Hikvision surveillance cameras as well as other brands. We include a pre-installed and configured hard drive with all our DVRs.
